Broth Braised Yukon Gold Potatoes for French Fridays with Dorie

Tonight I’m serving my Broth Braised Yukon Gold Potatoes on the side with New York strip steaks, roasted red peppers and arugula salad but I can also see these delicate cubed potatoes served alongside chicken or fish.  The small cubes of peeled Yukon Gold potatoes cook in the broth to make their own creamy sauce which I think hits the spot served in a small bowl so as not to miss a single drop of the deliciousness.  The recipe for broth braised potatoes infused with fresh herbs, garlic, lemon zest and olive oil from Around My French Table by Dorie Greenspan is a simple French comfort food that  I will be adding to my repertoire of healthy potato dishes.  Here is a link to the recipe which we have been asked not to print on our sites.  Please follow this link to French Fridays with Dorieto check out all the Broth Braised Potatoes from the kitchens of Doristas sharing their dishes from around the world.

This week I received 2 blogging awards from fellow Doristas, I would like to thank Teresa at One Wet Foot for the Liebster Blog Award and Lizzy at That Skinny Chick Can Bake for the Inspirational Blog Award.  Please check out their delicious blogs and thanks again Ladies for honoring me with these awards!

  8. Tinier potatoes make tastier braises. I need to get that ingrained in my brain. Your potatoes look so comforting!

  9. Potatoes along with chocolate and chips…oh well you know what I mean…are my definite tummy weakness! Ohhh…those carbs get me everytime ;o)

Great comfort for the weekend ahead.
    Have a great day Patty.

    Ciao for now,

  10. Nice pictures! I didn't get any this week as we were in too big a hurry to eat:) We enjoyed these and I'm glad you did too!

  11. Congrats on your rewards, that is nice. Your dish looks very inviting
and delicious. As Tricia and I both mentioned, we we not impressed,
but we tried and that's what this blog is about. Your presentation in the
    photo is lovely.

  12. Wow…the meal you are planning sounds terrific! Your potatoes look perfect and will make a tasty side. I also think you deserve the awards…always enjoy your posts…and I just saw a beautiful bread recipe just under this post that I need to check out.

  13. You always do such great justice to Dorie's recipes. I think I might enjoy this on its own for lunch but I love everything else you prepared with it.

congrats on the awards, Patty! Have a great weekend.

  14. They look so pretty against the blue. :)

  15. I really like this idea, I've had potatoes lots of ways, but never this way. I'm getting excited for our party. Hope you have a great weekend my dear.

  16. Lovely photos, as always! I like how you cubed your potatoes but we all like the skins on around here and it's easier so that is usually the route I take.

  17. I think that I will cut my potatoes smaller like you did next time. I just cut them in half and they took longer to cook than I would have liked. Still tasty though.

  18. If I had made the potato dish, I would have chosen the California Yukon gold potatoes, Patty. They are so flavorful and I can imagine the taste with the sauce. Congratulations on your awards!

  19. You have taken the lowly potato and made them look gorgeous! I love this recipe… btw…I love those bowls!Apilco?

  20. There's something so comforting about a simple bowl of potatoes- these look delicious! :)

  21. I love how you served these in a bowl so none of the tasty broth was lost. What a cute place mat. I really enjoyed these and can't wait to make them again.

  22. Wow..YUMMY RECIPE…I am loving it..

  23. Love cooking in broth! Have yet to try potatoes. These look so soft! Is it only good with Yukon?

  24. I love the calm quality your photos exudes. I notice your potatoes were cut into quite small pieces. I suppose all the extra surface is why the starch thickened the broth a bit. Your description of the rich broth sounds very enticing!

  25. Your photos make the potatoes look so appetizing and flavorful! The broth sounds great! Have a terrific weekend :)

  26. I know I'd like these a lot better in small cubes so the broth flavor actually infuses into the potatoes! I may actually try these again!

  27. I think this is the first time I've been to your blog, too. :) Lots of great photography!!

  28. Sounds like a lovely side dish, and your photos are just gorgeous Patty!
Congratulations on your awards as well :)

  31. Yours look so creamy and delicious! I need to cut mine in smaller cubes next time so they turn out like that!

  32. Love your photography! You did the best job of making very white potatoes look bursting with color.

  33. These potatoes would have been perfect with steaks – a great choice! Congrats on the awards.

  34. Patty-your Yukon Gold potatoes cooked in broth look really light, and super delicious. Paired along with the yummy steak, and arugula salad…my kind of dish, for sure. Absolutely loving it!
Your photos always look so elegant, and superb:DDD
Congratulations on your well deserved awards!
